I still can't get over how perfect your painting and scenery and just about everything is, some of the finest work I've ever seen.  Other than the missing shop steps of course :p

I get excited every time you post an update!

Thanks. I must admit I have been surprised at how well the photos come out. I know little about photography, I just point and shoot with my cellphone camera.

I don't say it as often as I think it. This is a just an outstanding job of modeling. Great job.

Best wishes, Dave

got some more work done on the coal dealer. it's all about the sub-assemblies.....

this sits on top of the silo without any glue....

self-adhesive magnets holds the chute in place, the top slips into a slot on the underside of the horizontal conveyor....

the silo sits on the base, the base sits in the square holes. nothing is glued. it's in an area that will probably catch an elbow some day, so i made it a break-away structure...

getting back to work on the chip conveyor for the paper mill, work stalled when I had no brass rod for the handrails atop the silo. I had a brainstorm over the weekend.....

started with 1/4" hardware cloth, the wire dia is 0.023"

the 1/4" yields about 42" spacing between posts and a 42" height...

this looks about right...

I am working on chain-link fencing for the coal dealer using this....stay tuned

That's effing brilliant!  and all you need is a small piece - a scrap really - to do the whole layout . . .

I scare myself when I get this clever! I paid $8 for a small roll of this stuff. It'll do 100 layouts.

Stop that before you put an etch brass detail manufacturer out of business.
