L&N somewhere in Eastern Kentucky

I am a hi-hood alco fan indeed. The road roster consists of 2 Long Island RR hi-hood C420s, 3 low-hood C420s, 5 RS11s, 3 U25Bs, an ABA and an ABB set of Alco FAs, an ABA set of F7s, a pair of C628s and a pair of hi-hood SD35s. A pair of RS2s work the yard. I am currently resisting the urge to order a half-dozen of the Southern Railway hi-hood SD35s Atlas recently announced.

If you need low-hood SD35s in L&N paint, I have two of the Atlas unnumbered units waiting for a new home.

I started work on the chip conveyors for the paper mill......

Now I need to decide how to make them look as they are supposed to.....

Getting back to work on mill, staring to fill-in scenery around the chip conveyors and the wood chip pile.....

Looks nice, but a question. Would a proto mill have that much greenery around the chip piles? None I've seen like to leave living landscape anywhere but around the corporate office building.

This scene is going to look fantastic when finished. Just the rightsized buildings for N Scale, nice and big to dwarf then trains. I agree less green.

the green will be toned down, in an area like this I start with green and then paint over it for roads, footpaths, parking areas, etc. to give it the mud look. the green will show in spots, like weeds would. stay tuned.

I figured it would be something like that. Just like in the real world, paving over grass is pretty easy.   

I am not getting much done on my mill scene and I blame you. Thanks to those Lego ideas of yours, I am now readdicted to playing with the blasted things.  I keep coming up with wacky arrangements for roof vents and other details.

Second application of wood chips to shape the pile. This is challenging, the alcohol & glue distort the shape and discolor the chips....I think this is a bit to conical anyway...
