Mark,

A word of caution when using Shapeways.  They are having quality control problems with some of their stuff.  I would suggest getting one of the five bridges done and examine the finished product before ordering all five.  Probably stating the obvious here but just a heads up.

Doug

Thank you for the heads up Doug.  Perhaps the most important driver - even more so than the cost - of trying to secure the university RPM machine is that it is 5 minutes away by bike and I can be there to watch and learn from the builds.  It is also a very high resolution Objet device with a 12" platen so I can do complete bridge spans in one build.  I hope this pans out...

this is why I come to TRW
Was running some trains and lashed this Montreal Locomotive Works pair up and snaped a pic....not a great pic but a classic "oddball CP Rail" pairing.....

This is why I come to TRW, great work.

In progress Norfolk Southern E3 class 2-8-0.

HO scale craftsman kit I'm doing for the Fayetteville Transportation and Local History Museum

This will be my father's Christmas present, HO scale Stewart DS4-4-1000.  I still have to weather the trucks and fuel tank and add a bunch more details.

And, for what I actually did this weekend.  I was experimenting with holding the scabbard in the off hand for parrying.  I don't like it one on one, but for melee when both sides are in lines, it is rather useful for knocking swords out of the way so that the guy next to me can get a better shot.

Completed the river side around the coal mine and finished the wooden bridge that goes across it.  Still need to work on securing the track at the coal mine so I can start ballasting.  Then I can start adding trees and dress the area up.  Here are a few pics of my progress as of today:

Thanks for looking!

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

David I like that mine setting , it looks logical . Till you get it all sceniced you could fill that a string of hoppers with pink foam for a humorous progress shot .

Spent an entertaining afternoon at Ed's, each of us taking turns running loops on the floating foam layout.  Here Laurel Valley 1801 moves some new stone hoppers along the main line...

Sorry I'm late for the party.

I'm embarrassed to admit that I visited the Dark Side this week.

No one will have any issues seeing the layout at that height.  :D
