Two from the recent things on the NCR layout.

1. A going away shot of the lot and the bar at Dairy Rd:

2. And passing through CP Parkton

Jim:  That would be a fun ride..... how do you find out about these things, and how long in advance does IRM announce them?

Paul,

Their website and Yahoo Group are your two best sources.

Finished forming the scenery on one portion of the layout and threw down a layer of paint.  Since this is supposed to be the sandhills of North Carolina, I went with a sandy color.  I could have sprinkled some fine foam on it, but decided otherwise, since I don't want any of that in the lake bed, and I'm going to need to blend the scenic forms into the fascia, once installed.

There's a Yahoo Groups list called irmlist that is a potent source of info with several department heads posting - anyone can join, and it's a fount of knowledge and information; then there's irm.org where the site has a neat blog with department info (Including BULLETIN 1630 approved for retubing by FRA yesterday!), and finally the hicks car co blog where a couple of volunteers let you know what's going on...

I think there was at least a month's notice of the Galesburg trip...

Edit - I see this has already been answered, and my thanks for that...for those of you who have never been, IRM is an experience like no other....

I know Kato recently announced the E5 but I just finished an A-B set from resin shells on Life-Like mechanisms. Of interest is that I visited IRM today and rode behind 9911A in the Nebraska Zephyr. I snagged the last parlor car seat in the observation. Sweet ride !!!

Great shot!.  One question.. Is that a masonite backdrop that you coved into that corner?  I am currently looking for a backdrop material that would cove into a fairly tight radius 12 inch or less.. (masonite always seems too stiff).    I would be interested in what you used for your layout.

It's done!  The factory is installed and the siding is ballasted.  The mountain has been glued back in place.  Now I just need to scenic the parking lot side of the factory.

Not so fast William..... let's have some forensic side shots of those bad boys so we can extend the E5 thread another 8 pages or so whilst we debate your window cheeks and nose slant..... remember; "better modeling via peer pressure"....... LOL

Nice work mate; they look great (to me anyway)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Please don't go there. Although with the NHL lockout, my nights are free for the time being.

Great work everyone.  I spent the weekend installing switch machines (and moving supports around where they had been poorly planned )
