I am excited about this release...of course, I'll find a way to rationalize two of them in ATSF zebra stripes! (switching LAUPT or Barstow perhaps?)...I'm quite happy with the Atlas VO-1000s and the FM's as well.....I can't see any reason I wouldn't be just as happy with these MUCH desired units!
Respectfully,
Bruce

I found pictures of these in CP rail still in use.  Does anyone know of industrial users in Canada for these?  Paper mills, etc?  Trying to find a reason to buy one!

It looks like the stack pipe is beveled or chamfered on the bottom which doesn't make a flush fit to the cast hood.  It that just the photos or in the design?

Heh, me, too, Bruce.  I am very willing to accept an S2 anachronism on my 1980s-based Seaboard System layout in Seaboard Coast Line (SCL) or possibly even Seaboard Air Line (SAL) or Atlantic Coast Line (ACL).

In other words, this will do nicely: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=464928

...or this: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2384622

Seperate plastic pieces, eh?
Might make it easier to do a S-1 then I thought! :D

The base of the exhaust stack is molded with hood - or are you talking about where the plastic piece fits into the base of the hood?  As these are test shots, there are a few fit issues to be resolved.

Paul,

Do you know if the trucks will fit under the Atlas RS3 mechanism? It would be cool to have some Milwaukee RS-3's with blunt trucks!

I don't believe they will, but we don't have enough pieces to really play with yet.

That's where the speaker goes.

Paul, speaker? Did you say SPEAKER? As in SOUND??? Excellent!
Can't believe nobody picked up on it... So do you mean room for a speaker or do you actually plan to bring it out with sound?
