The rest of the fleet starts to get it's 1920 correct lettering.Top is a K-1-B 2-6-0Middle is a G-3 4-6-0Bottom is an I-2 4-6-2At least in my mind....
Time to decide whether to convert her to DCC and sound, or wait for the Kato Greyhound and sell her. She started out with the light gray striping, but I retettered and restriped her, one letter at a time... Nice machine, shown here below Devore, westbound on the wrong track Otto K..... coming... Bob,The three UP's are awesome, no doubt. Very nice collection. However, being an SP family man, I think the GS-2 outshines the the UP's. Don't know if the difference is the manufacturer and details or the very nice close up of her leaning into the curve, very nice picture. Are the MORE/LIK locos still being made ?Carl
I was struck by how fast that train appears to be moving. I clocked it by counting 31 40' freight cars zipping by in 12 seconds,to be about 70 mph, and allowing for some extra space between the cars, let's call it 75 mph.That does sound reasonable for a "fast freight".But it looks like it's going a lot faster than that.
75mph freight behind a 63" drivered cabforward? It looks fast because it is, way too fast... even without those curves...Just MHO, Otto

Here's some SP steam doing what it does best....and some more....This is my new SP overnight set, and yes the coach on the back was correct. It was too fast for cabooses. They did bring out a caboose with high speed trucks later to use with the diesels on this train.-James
Ok how did you get your Cab-Forward to pace with your GS-4? I've tried and I can't get any speed out of the Cab-Forward.
