Thanks for the compliments, guys.  When I find a little time, I'll try to write up something about how I make my water in another thread, probably in the Layout Engineering Report area.  Although, that particular part of the Hudson River was done quite a few years ago, so it might take some brain power to remember exactly what I did.

In the meantime, here's another steam shot, a Hudson pulling a mail and express train south.  Same corner of the layout as the L-4 picture, but from the south side of the bridge.  I used this one for a recent short article I wrote about my layout for the NYCSHS quarterly magazine.

-Brian.

I love this.  The water and the rocky wall/shore really makes me think of the New York Central... (but then... that's the idea!!! ;-)   )

It sounded like a good idea at the time... too bad the caboose wasn't in on the plan.

I agree, his water modeling looks like spinnerbait country in model form. Impressive!

the Mississippi river was poured with Enviro-tex, two pours, first one tinted, second clear, the river is 4 feet wide and 18" deep, it is the largest pour i have ever done. Gordon :)

One more thing. Did you pour this in mulitple pours per layer for that large of a river? Also, what was the mix ratio used.? What was the tint product as well. That should do for now.  Just gaing knowledge!

John, it has been a couple of years since we poured the river, I believe it was two pours per layer/ two layers =total of 4 batches mixed and poured/ ....mixed per the instructions/ .......the little Testors bottle I think olive green......the acrylics in the tubes do not seem to mix well. hope that helps. Gordon :D
