And yes I know I need to paint over the stars on the drivers.

Super T / Jason,
Great thread! I just now noticed the little stars...thought it was some secret symbol for the Tomball Locomotive Works...:)
Can't wait to see what you do with the 3800 2-10-2's.....
Best, Otto

It seems that as a new member to this forum I need to have a minimum number of posts to be able to upload pics? Perhaps 25? Maybe I need to compliment everybody here individually to break the barrier?
If you see me complimenting your work, I really DO mean it... :)
Regards, Otto

Okay, I admit it, I'm just making comments to run up to the magic number, but Andrew, that Z-class Malley is gorgeous! I'd be a little nervous though riding the shorty wooden caboose stuck in front of it!
Otto, 20 and counting...:)

I have a weak spot for narrow gauge and it's rare to see well done Nn3 steam. Very nice. What is the origin of the model?
Thanks, Otto

As good or better when it was new.  I had to put a new motor in and don't remember if that messed anything up.

Your comment means a-lot coming from you Otto.  I have been a huge fan of yours since getting into n-scale twenty odd years ago and I have garnered much inspiration from your work!  Hurry up and get that post count up so we can continue to be awed and inspired!

I'll throw a couple more locos into the mix.

The first is one last shot from Bozeman Pass.  This time a Z-8 in black and white.

Second is my F-1

Andrew,
you're making me blush, thanks for the too kind comments. Funny, I thought I was inspired by your work, which is outstanding! Just love the F-1, you've nailed it!

Chris, I'm a new guy here, but my guess is you can play in this sandbox anytime....WOW you do beautiful modeling!

Otto,

Here on Railwire.net, I don't think there is a photo upload facility.  What we do (myself, anyway) is there use the 'insert image' button (it's
right next to the 'YouTube' button... and then cut/paste the URL to the image (which you have to host yourself somewhere else on your own).

I hope that helps.

Wish I could claim this picture was mine.  Here is Otto Kroutil's “Eastbound at Summit”.  Like you, I am wondering what 1940's post card he copied this image from!!!  Beautiful work Otto

I have GOT to figure a way to get one of these!
The Santa Fe still used these in helper service from Belen up to Mountainair in my 'model year'-1957!

Nice work Doug; Fleischman mechanism? DB Br 01?
Otto

Hi Otto:  Yes, the PRR K4 drivers and valve gear are from a Fleischmann 4-6-2.  The driver spacing was altered and the loco is pure tender drive.

Key SP MT-5 4-8-2 on a friends N scale layout. This "Antelope" (as SP engine men called them) looks "fresh". Weathering yet to come....
