Yes - working on that right now. Hopefully in a future magazine article.

Same here (minus the article writing).

I've got a TCS Z2 I'm hoping to secure in the cab and run the wires like dangled hoses to the motor in the tender.  What's your plan?

Have been so impressed by  all of your GS4 conversions, but even though I am a "John Santa Fe" guy through and through, what you have done structurally and even more so mechanically, your 4-12-2 is a Blue Ribbon model inside and out. Congratulations!!!  :D

Congrats Jason!  I see some numbers on the score sheet, now I'm curious what they correlate to and what comments (if any) are given by the judges.

Hey thanks guys,
It scored a 107 out of 120 point.  The three suggestions were in regards to the exact prototype for 9079 as it appeard in the picture I provided.  As stated : It does not have the board at the coal bunker to increase capacity, steam line on the tender between the trucks and they would have preferred stronger weathering.  I prefer the shopped within the past few months look, atleast on my first engine.  Perhaps the next one will be the grimy beast.

Thanks again guys!

A Z2 in the tender.  ;)

I'm definitely interested in how you pull that off.

Jason, Being scored lower because judges think your engine should be dirtier?  WOW, that's pretty egotistical if ya ask me!!  As long as it's prototypical should be the criteria, which your model clearly is.  What if one judge scores it higher because it's cleaner, and another judge scores it lower because it's not dirty enough????  It's purely subjective and has no place in judging a model in my opinion.

However, congratulations on the blue ribbon!

I saw your loco at the show Saturday superturbine, and although I didn't know you lived in Houston, I figured it had to be yours- pretty sure you have the only 4-12-2 in N in the country 8)

And I assure you guys it looks even more awesome in person.
