There are a bunch of us across the border in the BC lower mainland.  The thing I find surprising is that both N scale magazines are based in the PNW, but there seem to be very few US PNW Railwire members.

As my signature says, Burnaby, British Columbia.  Part of the NMRA's Pacific Northwest Region, but what Bill Schaumburg of Railroad Model Craftsman refers to as SOUTHwestern Canada!

If any of the Railwire community get to the Vancouver, BC area for Trains 2012, November 9 - 11, stop by the PGE-BCR Modellers display (Northwest corner of the display hall if they put us in the same location we have had for the past 6 years) and say "hello"!

Cheers,

Well, if it counts..  I was rebuilding MT heavyweights into Santa Fe cars in the Everett, WA Holiday Inn. I built a UP E2 bubble nose in the Burlington, WA Best western and also built a Santa fe 2-10-4 Madame queen, Wig-Wag crossing signals, and god knows how many other kitbashes in those 2 hotels plus the La Quinta in Everett. Does that count? I work for BNSF and they were flying us up there for work from Aug 2010-feb 2011. I went to Kirk Reddies place a couple times also in that time frame and chatted with him and Keith Lyons.

Idaho in general is usually considered part of the Northwest, along with western Montana.  Whether southwest Idaho considers ITSELF part of the Northwest, or more closely aligned with Utah and Nevada, I have no idea.  I know that, when we lived in eastern Washington, southeast Idaho and northern Idaho were far apart, politically.

It sounds more sophisticated than Olympia, don't you think.  Kind of like Grand Mound.    :D

Bob -

The Olympia Brewery was taken over by Pabst and then ultimately by Miller Brewing before a dispute between Miller and the city of Tumwater about wastewater lead them to close
the brewery entirely in 2003.

Good info on the History http://www.brewerygems.com/olympia.htm
