Decoder In Atlas C630

Anyone know what DCC decoder is used in the N-Scale Atlas C630?  Decoder Pro doesn't seem to recognize the one that's in the unit.

Same one that's used in the C-628.

My guess if it is a new release would be an NCE. Bob.

If it is a new issue I belive that it would come with an NCE decoder, older would have been the Lenz decoder. Bob

When I ask Decoder Pro to identify the docoder, it comes up with "Dual Mode".  I can't find any info on this one.  When I tried to change the active address in Decoder Pro from the short to the long address, I no longer have the ability to turn the lights on or off.  They only come on when the loco starts moving.  Should I try a factory reset or is there another way to fix this?

Sorry, thought you were looking for a decoder for one.  If the decoder came with the loco, I would ask Atlas.

Hi Doug,

If it is an  Atlas factory fitted decoder  they do use Lenz  decoders  in some locos  try  a read on the programme track for the manufacturers number  Lenz  is 99  &  i  would suggest a   decoder reset to  factory  settings    here is  the latest NMRA   table  showing  decoder addresses

http://www.nmra.org/standards/DCC/standards_rps/Appendix_A_RP_9_2_2_2011_04_09.pdf

look  in the decimal  column  if the  manufacturer  number isnt 99   to identify who made it  adjust the decoder  back to factory to  start with,  then  run your loco  on  address #3   & test the lights if they are working correctly.

Renumber to your choice &  check  everything again  until  your happy.

Actually if it's a factory equipped decoder, the code will be 127 for Atlas. That's even if Lenz made the decoder for Atlas. The C630 was equipped with n Atlas decoder made by Lenz.
They switched to NCE later.
Here's a link to Atlas N decoder applications:

The manufacturer's number shows up as 127.  I think a resset is the way to go.  Now I just have to figure out how to do that since I don't have any documentation for the Lenz decoder.
