Nice work on the VQDWs (if that's what they are?).

Gold star to Leggy, very easy kit to put together, once you get through all the flipping parts.

Haven't got any myself (don't model Mexico) but I knew they looked familiar! Spirit Design sure does some nice local outline kits.

Also, this week I finished the mold for a Chessie System rock pilot master I made.  This is the first time I've really done a two-part mold, and I'd say it turned out well.  I'll be needing plenty of these, so I've been popping out as many as I can.  They were on practically ever Chessie locomotive after all!

Nice! Much needed detail part that was always overlooked, back when we actually had detail part companies in N scale! Any thoughts of offering these for sale? I know I would buy a few.

I finally have a few things to share this week.  Up first, an Atlas GP40-2 with weathering and a cab signal box from Hay Brothers:

Then, my other project for the weekend, a Trainman Penn Central FGE box.  Special thanks to Paul Graf for sending me a replacement shell when I stripped the original one during weathering:

I picked up a pair of Reading 40' trailers on clearance last month:

I've had this ESM gon (and the one to the right) for a while, but here's a picture of a G26 with Hay Brothers load:

Lastly, a close-up of another ESM favorite, the XiH:

Hey David V, how did you go about weathering the FGE and the XiH?

Hey David V, how did you go about weathering the FGE and the XiH?

Both were done with washes, I believe.  Washes definitely on the FGE, but I may have hit the XiH with an airbrush fade coat...  I did it last year and don't quite recall.  I know I also used washes on it too.

Nice work at all; Dave's modeling makes me more and more interested in modeling Penn Central/Conrail in the 1970s/80s, very nice

Been working this week building the first HO-Scale 163ft 2-Track Ilchester Bridge. It should be finished and painted for the NTS in two weeks.

Richie--  For some reason this makes me think of the Illinois State Fair buttercow--

That image may be lost on those not from Illinois, Iowa, Ohio or Missouri but you can Google it and see what I mean.

I've been impressed with Superturbines work and know that with your skills the end result will be great!

Haha , and thanks for your vote confidence . Those first shots before work began were yellowed up by me to try and enhance the definition between the poor choice of color I used for background paper .

Thanks Mark , but it takes much more work to do a realistic layout , and in that you excel .

After an enjoyable near-3000km road trip out to Squamish for the PGE/BCR centennial convention .....

http://s1048.photobucket.com/albums/s377/Andy_BCR/Squamish%202012%20Road%20Trip/

.... I'm turning my focus on to my most ambitious locomotive hack job yet...

.. turning this (Atlas RS 11)

into this.. (a CRS 20..one of BC Rail's unique rebuilt RS18s)

http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2714375

..Only problem is I haven't figured out how to do it yet.   This may take a while
wow, that will be a major hack job
