^Knowing Bill, I think he would soil his pants if he knew you just posted his name next to Danneman's.   ;)

One makes great scenery, the other makes great rolling stock. Both are my inspiration...

Forced perspective? Weathering & wires to be added...

Not as good from above eh?

I'm getting some "Sakes, post something" messages from my peers. So here is a shot of the woods near Gills Landing. I used more grass here to represent the Wolf river's flood plains. I hope to reflect a more overgrown effect here where there is less leaves & such and more plant growth after the spring floods. Careful observers may notice actual tracks in the background.

I'll have an update soon...

5 minutes to spend with the layout? Apply hives to sooth.  :scared:

My latest "schallange" (besides adding wires to lineside poles) is to try to simulate the former Cenex, now Larsen, complex at Weyauwega. Of course, everything is plastered up against the wall (sky), so I only have to model a portion of it. I love shelf layouts - I only have to model "one side" of things. I have begun assembling a row of those white bins and a larger grain bin. Pics later...

I think the forced perspective is working very well.  Top notch in the first pic and actually pretty decent in the second.   :o

I managed to finish one stretch of wires. On to the next...

A little variance in the tension of the lines here and there. I hope it looks acceptable:

Also variences in straightness and tension for tacks crossing underneath:

Also plunked down some UNFINISHED kits to try to get a feel for how things might look in my Cenex mill area:

I wonder if the white cement bins will pass for simulations of the ones in the real photo. Also not crazy about the shadow cast by the grain bin on the backdrop. Maybe I'll slice it in half, or just live with it. After all, my complex in Readfield has some shadows like that...

Just like the prototype, those darn power lines are getting in the way of my photos!  ;)

"Acceptable"? Let's try amazing. Extremely convincing.

That scene is coming along nicely.  Where did you get the cement bins?  Are they a kit or scratchbuilt?

They look like they are from that old Faller kit with the circular segmented aggregate bins?
