I see nine more cars that will be joining my roster.  It's going to be an expensive summer.  Thanks for sharing the paint samples.

Alright, this is good...  I can breathe for a while.  The CR cars are all a bit late for my era.  But I'll be picking up a PC car from this batch.

Quick question, Bryan...   One of the PC cars is listed as having a '65 service date.  Would it not have been serviced again when painted post-January-1968 merger?

In regards to the PC car, every so often when a car went through the Hollidaysburg or Altoona shop for repainting, the cars were not reweighed.  These cars would retain their last reweigh date, which appears to be the built day for this car.  As far as those Conrail cars go, I am tempted to get extras, renumber them and backdate the shop date based on the car I renumber it to.  CR209479 is the most common paint scheme for this car, and I really want to have it on my roster with an era appropriate number, shop date and COTS stencil.  Decisions, decisions.

... needs more Conrail  :D

When are the CR cars up for pre-orders?
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

I see the Conrail has service dates of the mid 80's, obviously they would run after that date for a period of time, I assume until they were serviced again/remarked or junked.  If that is correct, so what would the latest these cars stuck around?

Probably too old for me but I thought I'd ask since they look pretty darn good!

Thanks,
Mike

Yeah, the 1976-1980 Conrail cars you will "need" are going to be the expensive ones, with paint masks and multiple print hits to simulate the paint-outs of the predecessor roads.

No, as in the photo of the prototype, it kept its 1965 "new" date as the service date after painting.  I'm guessing the car was painted only when it was shopped.  That's why the photo dates are being included on the box label, for these types of anomalies.

Please make sure the doors read "TWO FULL TURNS".

 Yeah, I know.  But MR was correct in their review.  I have all the dimi data for the various cars in a SQL database, and somehow the info for #222101 got mixed up.  So the build date is wrong and the destination note is missing.  That some of the car doors are marked with "two full turns" while others have "one and a half turns" is a feature I overlooked.  That's something I will be checking from now on.

Be careful what you wish for.  :D

You're going to be sick of Conrail, since that road will be prominent from this point forward.  Reservations in July once the final proofs are approved, which should be before the end of this month.

In those paint schemes, through the end of Conrail into NS.

The PRR cars in the left row would be limited to the 1970s of later by the consolidated stencils.

So Bryan, will there be at least one humongous can opener so I can have at least one pre-1980 "pure Conrail" job as well?
