I just saw that, and from Pittsburg area too.  Not that it proves anything. The sell maybe 100% legit.

Pittsburgh area dealer has someone walk out with 6 of each number of the car and soon after someone form the area puts them up for sale. It could be a coincidence but in my experience that's way too much of a coincidence.

For a $500 purchase, I’d be pretty sure I’d know what era they were  for before committing.  Why not return them?

I was getting ready to ask if anyone had a shot of the deck and viola.  I missed those on the BLMA website somehow.  Anyone have pictures of the deck without trailers loaded on them?

Has anyone shot each of these? I have the first three numbers and each one is different.  The paint is different and the deck detail is different. I'd like to see what the other three numbers look like but I don't see any photos of them.

I'm recalling that from the onset Craig was pursuing variations in the detail according to what was on the prototype of that particular road number. If that came to fruition as it appears you have found, then Craig's vision was realized. And it would an amazing feat in a production model.

Not counting the faulty pins then, my Atlas 45' trailers are too long? With what appears to be proper space in between the door - end of the trailers, the "noses" still hang a scale foot or two over each end. I can certainly live with that, just wondering if it'll look too wierd? Hey Jim, how 'bout a straight - on side shot?

W Neal:  The noses of the trailers overhung on the prototype as well.  Two 45 ft trailers simply won't fit on an 89 ft flat!  So, yes, there will be about a foot of overhang on each end.  And, yes, it looks a little strange...

Ok. Ta! I don't speak much TTX so the overhang "looked" wrong. Yup, the math didn't work out either - unless its that new math I have heard of.

So if one puts a scale foot or two between the trailer's door ends, and the rest overhangs by a couple scale feet on each end thats ok eh? Cool. Thanks again.

I smell fish... and i live fairly inland at that...
I think some proper authorities need be alerted, or if anything the LHS owner should be alerted (if not already) so that he can look into the situation and possibly arrange a "look-over" meeting to determine whether or not there need be any legal involvement/investigation.
