Betting on how many hours after these come out before Richie does something cool with one of them:

I'd say any questions about the drive mechanism have been put to rest.

Ed,

I'd say that the over-under on Richie rebuilding an Atlas 4-4-0 is about two hours after release.  ;)

I'm takin three hours; one to get up off the floor from the news Atlas is making a steamer....(and don't get me started about why a 19th century American when there are more modern steamers begging to be made...)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

Haha , don't know on the speed of mod or if a mod is needed at all , but I will be sure to get one or two . Might just need to add decals for the Casey's Scenic RR one , the UP had plenty of plain Jane's in a basic black dress . I will have to look into a book I have that covers that era of UP steam . Surly one will be close enough , and if not , it will be by the time I'm done . I helps to have altitude challenged standards . I am hopeful that this will be a great puller , and if it is Chris will turn it into something odd or something Erie .

Surprised they didn't have a B&O in the first run.

I was thinking the same thing when I read your post. Just don't let Cris or Randy get a hold of one.

Poor Victor, no Atlantic yet.

So they officially announced?

They look pretty good stock.

I plan to pop out the plastic spokes and replace with 3 or 4 layers of etched brass.

The price was kind of shocking... $120 MSRP will give it an $80 street price. That is pretty damn good.

I am curious what the hell they were thinking about those spokes. That screams Trainman all the way.

I'm down for 1 or 2 of them! use one for a little excursion train, and beat the crap for another logger. 4-4-0s didn't last long as loggers, but they were out there. Pretty much loggers used any used loco they could get their hands on!

I'd like to see an unpowered version to use for displays (parks, stations, etc)  ....   :D

Probably only save $5 if motor was left out... is it really worth it?
