Didn't see this one coming,

As announced in the current NSR's Horizon section, Lowell Smith Signature Series is first up for The Disney Company. (of course in Walt's personal home railroad proto scheme)

Per Mr Graf, more schemes in the works.

Didn't see any pics (maybe I missed them), but that is fine with me.

Best wishes, Dave

Oldie 4-4-0 comming , well that's not bad at all Atlas . If it is engineered and runs better than the Bachmann it will sell well . Could this be the start of a Atlas steam fiesta ?
Oddities like the 2-10-0 and 4-4-2 and 4-8-0 with motors in the tender . Camelbacks would also be welcome . Dreams dreams ....... NEVER IN MY LIFETIME .

Looks eerily similar to the Bachmann, but its so stinking small the similarities are bound to happen. I dont know if it's the packaging, but looks like the cab is going uphill.

It is a modified Micro-Ace 2-6-0 body on a new chassis much like what Model Power did with their Mogul and American:

http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/image/10025240a/20/1

1. The boiler matches the Micro-Ace, the domes, straps and stack all match.
2. The cab appears to be slightly modified to accomodate the larger wheels. The cab may also be a bit shorter.
3. The tender looks to be the same with a "hump" over the front half/coal bunker. The trucks may be different (Commonwealth?) style.

Well, it's definitely not the Bachmann mechanism. If you scale the images that up1950s provided so that the drivers on both locomotives are at the same distance apart:

A lot of the elements are close, but most definitely the tenders don't match up. And since part of the Bachmann mechanism is in the tender, this would have to be at least a major redesign.
