Slow week; too much other stuff.... Here's a rejected photo (rejected by me) from an upcoming magazine article....



For what it's worth; I think the SD 40's in tuscan were the ultimate classy expression of the CPR livery ever created.....

Finally gone back to finishing the UP 4-8-2 7869 . Painted and decals are on . Hopefully finished in a week .

Yes kids, the Cumberland Station is now fully lit, showing off the murky interiors I spent all week working on.

After the first floor was done to my satisfaction, that was covered up to work on the second floor.


Likewise, the LED leads were located, and another vertical blind slat was sacrificed to cap the second floor.


I used some masking tape to finish pulling in the bowed walls, holding them securely while the glue cured.  There's still a bit of an arc to the back wall, but hopefully that will be imperceptible by the time I install the dormers and the roof.



The details I put in the interior are now only visible through the windows.  All of the LED wiring ended up in the attic, which made it much easier to work on.  I again mixed up the colors used, but mostly this one has 3mm warm white, which I think gives a pretty believable color and intensity.



Next to build the roof...

Nice looking station. What did you use for the bricks. It looks like embossed cardboard, and a good looking material for the digital cutting machines.

Plastruct 1:200 brick sheet.  Nothing fancy.  I like that it's opaque for obvious reasons!  Also thin and easy to cut.

Nice work Lee!  That's one thing I think a lot of us miss when building structures in N Scale, interiors.  I know I'm guilty of that with my Taco Bell, but will change that in the future.  Just wish I had a local store that carried Pastruct or Evergreen so I could see what I'm looking at before buying.

I started messing around with decal paper this week.  While not prototypical, I wanted to see how they'd come out.  I'm happy with the results so far.





Also refinished a Kato GP38-2 into Norfolk Southern Horsehead:



And finally, started work towards a Conrail MT-4.  Lot's of filling and sanding to go yet (not to mention cutting on the frame to chop it down too...)

My NP A-5 is pretty much ready for paint. I still gotta make a coal load that is removable because one of the mounting screws is in the bunker. I still need to find a pair of cross compount air pumps and some class lights. Their is a few details that I am trying to decide if I want to keep or not. Pictures later.

Yup , cant wait to look through the window of the second floor of the firehouse while they are having a " smoker " ( watching x rated movies on a projected screen ) . LCD would work . X rated Movie House wouldn't have windows .
