I'd like to see some more "vintage" work equipment... it's hard to backdate a sloopy doopy contemporary CAT from Ertl... not impossible, but not easy to hide those modern lines...

I have some of the Tomix ones on the way to me from China right now. But it would be nice if you could have different add ons for the excavators like claws, trenching buckets, or thumbs.

You can argue whether or not we will see these in N (I doubt it) or the era, etc....but you have to admit that Atlas did a pretty nice job with these in HO. On the other hand, it looks like Boley has already produced this (and most other) vehicles in HO already.  Who knows how these decisions are made.

Yep, Volvo is actually pretty easy to license compaired to Cat, or JD. Since Volvo also owns Mack, you know they are at least receptive to N scale models.

I always thought that Volvo, and their Autocar lines were a perfect line to make in N since they seem to encorage models in various scales. Case/New Holland (now part of Fiat Construction) seems to be another untapped market for construction equipment.

In any even, you would be supprised just how much OEM diecast vehicle lines are floating around in China. I suspect much of the R&D and tooling was done prior to the great HO diecast crash of 2008, or designed as a side project when the factory was working on larger scale models. I think this is how Model Power ended up with their eclectic HO vehicle line.

Which Autocar though?  The last true Autocar was made in 1987, after that, they were just Volvo-Whites (or Volvo-White-GMC )rebadged to Autocar.

Too bad Tomytec couldn't do the Volvo series.

I just got my first excavators in from 7Toys7 (shipping was pretty fast) The dozer, front end loader and additional excavators are enroute as well. I'm pretty impressed with the excavators.   Now I have to try and keep my 3yo son from trying to steal them from the layout.
