Done! I quit. The decaling, that is. That was not fun. I still have to Dullcote and weather it. I agree with @Chris333 and will probably apply some charcoal-colored paint for tar as patches and to hide a multitude of sins. I'm considering taking a really sharp pencil and going at the joint between the roof and the chimneys to look like lead flashing. I'm not crazy at how the roof caps came out, because, as expected, they came out darker than the rest of the roof. But, it's growing on me, as it's highlighting the roof caps as trim. It will have to do.Thank God that's over with. Whew! I'll feel better once a coat of Dullcoat seals the decals down, though.DFF
The Railwire is not your personal army.
Quit while you're ahead. That looks excellent! Looking forward to the dullcoted version. Now, how about tackling this one...https://goo.gl/maps/GxAPzwJ2rmR2
Get in line Ed ! I asked him about Glyndon first !
@Missaberoad, I'm lazy, I'm just going to keep the shingles down to the drip edge. There's no way that I'm going back in and risk damaging the roof again. I've even bagged the idea of painting the drip edge red, because I can't mask off the roof without concern that the tape will pull the decal again.
Can you use a drywall trowel or wide putty knife, using that as your straight edge held against the roof and shoot your color ?
