I really like the subtle weathering on all of the locos & caboose that have been show so far.

Ian's CR - 1913
Puddy's - C-424
Coosvalley - RS-11

Very nice!

Thanks Mike; I re-read the Rail Canada Vol 3 book and saw that I misread the text; MLW did build 8300 (which became 4200) and actually used old RS parts.... including the fuel tank.....oh well; I have you around to keep me on track ! ;)
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

A trio of Milwaukee Geeps are in central Wisconsin headed for the Twin Cities.  That station wagon brings back memories for many of us baby boomers who can recall leaving the big city and traveling to the north woods of Wisconsin for summer vacation.

Heh, the 4244 in lock4244 is my favorite locomotive from formative years foaming with Dad. I often wonder if it'd be worth it to have CP and CN C424 shells done up in the manner that Briggs did the M630.

IIRC, 8300 contained parts from an RS10 that had some hard luck one day. But, IIRC, CP 5024 and 5025 are part FP7 or F7B, and SD40-2 5560 included some parts salvaged from the wrecked SD40 of the same number. CP did that a lot back in the day.

Installed one of the new decoders into a GP-20, received 2 of the Bachmann Northeastern cabooses (much better than you know who and last but not least, just got back from an engagement party for my older son and his fiance and drank all the Vitamin Y I wanted for nothing.

Ian, 1913 looks right there. I'm glad she's found a good home.

Now, about that GP38-2...

Odd I was planning on bringing it to Springfield...but someone AGAIN is not showing up

Finished building prototype models of two Pennsy gons, G36 and G32C in time for Springfield.

ProJet XHD rapid prototype bodies, milled brass floors (thanks 71jeep!), etched ladders and brake platform, MTL brakewheels and couplers, BLMA trucks.

Most of this week's hobby time was devoted to getting the layout restaged and ready for an ops session next week.  We haven't had a session since September so there was a bit to do.

What "modelling" I did get in was progress on abbutments and piers for both the Kootenay River bridges and the Lemon Creek bridge.  Hopefully photos of some painted and weathered piers for next week.

In the meantime I have permission of Railwire's own Tim Horton to post a couple of his recent test photos .  We are still messing with composition etc.  The first is a Helicon.  H Liners and Cabeese assebled and painted by Jeff Briggs of Briggs Models.

Been working on Jacob's layout with him, but nothing photo worthy yet, just working on buildings and painted the layout edge.

In the meantime, both my boys are Cub Scouts this year, and if you have (or were) a Cub Scout, you know January is Pinewood Derby time!

Jacob went minimalist this year, but his Tiger Cub brother who is still all about Pixar's Cars wanted Lightning McQueen...
