Eric,
Seems ot me your basic scenery, "crappy" cell phone, and out of the box cars and locos are all working really nicely!  The depth of field on the one side was a tad off, but that's an effect of the camera angle as much as anything.  Otherwise looks really good to me - especially the trestle.

Very nice work there,  one of the great modern layouts in the making!

Thanks for the video,

Looking groovy!
I like the feel of the trains rolling by the large structures.
Another win for N scale!

Great video.  I was wondering where that big gorge was.  KC mill is spot on.  8)

Aaron, the gorge is purely fictional and was added as a scenic feature only.  I included it after seeing the steel trestle on my friens Louis' (a/k/a Trainforfun) layout in Montreal.  I named it Letourneau Gorge in honor of him.  There is nothing like that anywhere on the proto Housatonic RR.

Thanks for the compliment on Kimberly Clark.

Absolutely!  I'm also applying for federal grants to run passenger service from Grand Central to Pittsfield over 10 mph restricted track.  $200 million should do it.  BSRM can get their own grants.  Besides a year from now P&W will own the HRRC trackage... :P

I am hoping a year from now the PW will own the NECR, or at least the CN will own the NECR!!

CN through this area again would be pretty nice.

Work slowly progresses on the Housatonic.

Here are a few more grab shots as I am roughing in Specialty Minerals, in the Canaan section of the layout.  This was formerly a quarry owned by Pfizer and had been here a long time.  It produces a specialized form of limestone used in pharmaceuticals, food, and tile industries.  It was also one of the primary producers of magnesium during WWII.

The prototype plant is a major customer for the Housatonic RR.  I would love to see some nice Flexiflow Hoppers produced in N scale, as I need a ton of these to represent the actual traffic at Specialty Minerals.

First the prototype plant:

Now for some of the rough models and mock-ups:
