I have a big favor to ask of a Springfield show attendee. One of the exhibitors listed for the show is Bob's Photos. I have heard from a couple of sources that he has some photos for sale of the DSDX 2000 series cars. These cars were used in Schlitz beer service, and I only have a grainy copy of one (see below). This is the Holy Grail of beer rail cars for me, but I am unable to mount a crusade that this point (my sword is in the shop).

So, I am looking for someone who would be willing to stop by Bob's Photos (BLC 19 A,B,C,D,E,F,G), see if he has any DSDX 2000 series photos, and purchase/ship them for me.

This is an example of the car type that I am looking for. It is a 40 ft plug door, numbered DSDX 2000-2199.  I would buy as many different photos of this car as is available.

Please let me know if you are willing and able to help. I promise to reimburse you promptly...it would be easiest if I could PayPal some $$$.
Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I'll pm you an email and phone number for Bob Lilijestrand.  Since he doesn't bring everything with to the shows, it might be easier to ask him directly and order the prints he has.

Make sure it's the one in Kentucky and not Connecticut.

Just make sure it's not the one where Homer Simpson lives.  You know how he can mess up things 8)

I'll be there with some new goodies not shown yet. SPF's are required to bring their own towels to wipe up their drool. I do not believe that Mister Wallet will be happy with me.

I have 4 tables on the north wall of Better Living. Come on down and sit a spell, ya heer.

Yep! . . .  Found it last week while clearing a building site for all of the new prototypes I need to finish before Springfield. It will be a little while before I start a new SS sheet design. I'll email you soon.

:) My comment/question comes because I see a tendency for this forum to be somewhat EAST-COAST-USA-centric.
Especially when railroad shows are discussed such as this one which is out of range for those of us in the midwest.  There are shows in Springfield, IL, too.
This is not the only railroad forum where I see this occur; if one were to follow the B&O forum based on content they might assume the railroad never went past Ohio's western border.  ;)

Well its not spelled out as to the state, because it is nationally known as the Springfield Show or East Coast Hobby Show . As well as this is a mostly east coast a$$hat forum, so you kinda have to expect to conform to the forum you are in, not the other way around.

Sounds like something along the lines of the way the UP thinks.

We may need to leave a bacon trail up to Springfield
There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away
