2012  A New Layout NS Waynesburg Branch :oreveals new space in my cramped layout room! Finally got ambious enough to tear out a wall. This means I will add an 28 squre feet. Also I can eliminate that duckunder at the entrance of the room.  However it will set me back awhile. I have smacked my head already a thousand times.......
By the way DKS, hope your alright! Say wanna help design a new layout? lol

Make sure you're not fooling with a load bearing wall...

That would be bad.

This talk reminds me of the ending of Pink Floyd's album The Wall- tear down the wall!

Sorry to disappoint, but the Berlin Wall, the US Goverment, & or The former President is not currently located in my layout room to tear down!    Just the closet wall.....

Tomorrow morning (Tuesday) the wall studs will be removed and the clean up begins. Meanwhile, DKS, I could use your layout design help. :D Please?

I could use a few particulars... such as room size/shape, temporal/geographic setting, your features wishlist, and as many other details as you can possibly share.

Great Dave,
Modern era Unit coal trains in Southwestern Pa. Check Out the appalachian Model railroading. com or MGA Mine District.
Next, room size  basically a 10 Ft. X 10 Ft. square room just add 3 ft x 8 ft. to the outside wall.  (the closet wall that is being removed)
-------------
l      10ft     l                         Drawing not exactly perfect but gives you the general idea.
l                 l
l                 l 13ft                   Entrance door opens outward. location is lower left corner.
l                 l
l---l             l                          No duck unders! try to use 14 or 15inch radius curves on any
l -------- l                            visible curves. Some type of staging would be great!
        8ft                                Thanks Dave!

I'm flexible & open to your ideas at this point. I was thinking it would have to be multi-level.
Thinking peco code 80 medium radius turnouts & atlas flex. If it matters the longest stage track should be able to hold 2 loco's & 12 - 50 ft. cars.
