Partial ownership of an NFL franchise, a victory over the Bears...and my mother-in-law for a week. Two out of three ain't bad!

Best wishes, Dave
If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

For the first time in years, I didn't get any train related stuff .. I didn't want any!!!!

My son got me a large framed and matted picture of the USS Nimitz on canvas.  The actual picture was taken during one of my Med Cruises in the mid 80s.  what a great surprise. As i get older, and my days start to slip by ever faster, the nostalgia for days gone by increases.

Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I've never seen any A-B-A sets on the Zephyr on the WP. I've seen photos of an instance of an A-B-B-A set but that was unusual too. The norm by a long shot was A-B-B, what you use in that combo depends on whether you want it fairly new (F3s) or towards the Zephyrs end. Most photos I've seen (older) include a FP7 and a mix of F3 and F7 Bs, or two of one or the other. Quite often the Bs featured a painted-side unit and a polished stainless one too, for variety. Personally, I think the D&RGW early simple scheme PAs were super beautiful (they showed in black & gold briefly too, which was nice). The CB&Q Es were pretty freakin' sweet too and the Q ran F3s at the very start.

You can throw in a D&RGW B unit and still be realistic. Don't forget the WP shorty steam car and the occasional foreign cars, especially D&RGW gold in the train sets heading for San Fran. Sleeping cars from the Pennsy (Tuscan and UP Cities scheme), SP, and UP could also be found in consist.

Damn, I never should have picked up those WP books again...

Thanks B! I caught the one picture with DRGW black/gold early scheme PA's, very sharp with the stainless passenger cars. To bad Kato hasn't thrown that on the PA's yet (stainless/orange, black/gold).

Yea, but as a WM modeler, you shouldn't have any problem out-shopping that black and gold combo from the skunkworks.

I did not get anything 'train' but I did get the most important ingredient to having a train layout for Christmas... a new home. (With 2 rooms to chose from for the layout)  :)

Now the planning begins...

I got two laptop batteries and a new charger, a sound system and wall mount for our flat screen, and some bookcases for the switching layout project.

No train stuff cause' the kids figure I work in Santa's workshop anyway...what would be the point.  Got a Monogram B52 with the X15, a very cool combo and hybrid kit of the EC-135 N in 1/72 scale, the same series of Apollo tracking ac that belonged to the squadron my dad flew in when we were stationed at Patrick AFB Fla and the usual hand made goodies that really make the holiday special and  belt busting  :D  I did pick up an Atlas N Scale Rock Island GP7 in the Red, Black and White scheme at a train show a few weeks ago.  Man, that is the smoothest running loco I've pulled out of a box in a long time.

Nothing for me this year.
Two scientists create a teleportation ray, and they try it out on a cricket. They put the cricket on one of the two teleportation pads in the room, and they turn the ray on.
The cricket jumps across the room onto the other pad.
"It works! It works!"
