Straight or Curved?

Bridge girders on a curve?

I know they would be straight in real life, but in real life those tracks wouldn't be as sharp either. I trimmed the roadbed curved because I think they would look better curved.

What would you do?

Some Yahoo posted this to the web  :P

Most definitely straight Chris.  You'll regret curved.

Looks like there's enough room to have a wide single-span of straight (with the tracks curving over the straight section).
Or, if you stick a single support in the center, you could have two shorter straight sections meeting in the middle.

Does it have to be a metal girder bridge?
Wolfgang Dudler made a nice wood trestle on a curve.

Guess I forgot to say, but it will a ballasted deck through girder bridge. A wood trestle wouldn't really say "Erie double track mainline".

My two cents worth. :D

Make some sides out of thin plastic or cardboard  and temporarily attach them to the sides then live with it a couple days.If you like it make the permanent sides and attached them.

Thanks!   :ashat: :D

Straight.  I have yet to see a curved girder dating from before the era of modern highway construction.

straight .  As long as the girders are outside of the rails.
