Very nice.  Please take another pic if you get a coat of paint on it.  Between the CGW and CNW I know of a dozen different paint schemes plus a couple rebuilt cars that lost their cupolas.

This is my latest attempt at the Pullman Standard 1944 caboose, better known as the New Haven NE5 (and B&M and CGW).  This was the most common class in the New Haven 1950s caboose fleet, about twice as many than the International 1947 caboose (NE6), so I need a bunch along with the B&M/CGW/CNW modelers.

Very nice Brian. I'll be looking for some of these in NH and B&M!! Keep us posted on this gem of a project.  :D
By the way will you be at Springfield Mass. for the Big E Amherst show? If so I hope you bring this project with you too show us.

Did some more on my B&M Laconia caboose. Got the widows in the cupola done with a rain edge also. Filled an end window and decided to redo the caboose steps so they have the right steps. Pay no attention to the way the cupola is sitting. It's just loosely set on there. Next is to work on handrails and grabs. Also talked with Jim Abbott at High Ball Graphics and he will be doing his HO caboose set for this in N scale for us.  :D

That is nicely done, you can count me in for some for B&M cabs.

Nice work on the international caboose Jon.

Beautiful work brian on the caboose!!!   when you ready with the kit of the ne5 ill take five for the cgw. this is a sorely needed model for my roster.

I'm going to need 5 or 6 too. Are you thinking about etched ladders, rails etc.? Should I be looking for NE6s on the cheap for undercarriage, or will you be casting that too?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

Made some progress on UP Heritage car projects. This will ensure that about the time I finish these, Kato will probably announce the set. :D

Council Bluffs car with American Flag. Had to create decals on the color laser printer for these and under paint the model where the decal was going to be positioned. Here is where I'm at so far with touch up to do and detailing of the car body as well:

Next is the Howard Fogg power car. This is also a work in progress, but this is where I'm at so far. Lots of detail (particularly the roof) that I need to work on in addition to more paint and decal work that isn't complete yet:

Nice work everyone!

Very nice.  Please take another pic if you get a coat of paint on it.  Between the CGW and CNW I know of a dozen different paint schemes plus a couple rebuilt cars that lost their cupolas.

This one was used to test fit all the parts, and I think the vertical lines would show under thin coats of paint.  I want to get the outer surface perfectly smooth, and then the assembled master would go off for casting.  Also ordered some Bestine heptane to fully remove the wax residue from the parts and I'm waiting for that to arrive.

Very nice Brian. I'll be looking for some of these in NH and B&M!! Keep us posted on this gem of a project.

Yes, all weekend.  ESM will be in the Mallary Building, section 157-G.  X58 boxcars will be on display, and possibly some of the digital masters for the resin projects depending upon if the process can be perfected by then.

I'm going to need 5 or 6 too. Are you thinking about etched ladders, rails etc.? Should I be looking for NE6s on the cheap for undercarriage, or will you be casting that too?

Etched roofwalks definitely.  Haven't decided on how to render the end rails and ladders yet.  The original digital model was designed to fit the Atlas underframe.  But I'm leaning now toward designing and casting that as well, and securing a supply of NE6 weights from Atlas.  The windows also are an issue, as clear resin tends to be problematic.  Still a few kinks to work out, but it was convenient to use this model as the first XHD test shot.  This won't be the first model released, but it should be in the first five.  Two transition-era gondolas will be kicking off the product line, and the only thing holding them up is perfecting the XHD rendering.

I have enjoyed this indexed turn table very much.
If you get Christmas money, consider it as a gift to yourself.  :)
Walther's will eventually get it back in stock.  I hope.

A little more decalling, this time on the GP40W.  To get a clean edge on the anti-reflective nose panel, I used trim film I made at home.  So far, I like it in this use, but one of the sand hatches is not letting the decal snug down.  More to do but the fleet is almost ready to run.
