Dang it!  That's what I get for going to bed at 12:00 and giving up refreshing the MKB page!

Thanks for the tip! I checked earlier but didn't notice Trainworx as one of the product lines they carry (still don't). Anyway, I picked up another 40' parcel trailer (have 2 on order elsewhere) and a 28' UPS pup! They had only one listed and I think I got it. Didn't know those were out!

Russ

Soooo, you're the one!!  I had it in my basket and poof, it was gone before I finished the check out process..... Hopefully they'll be doing more in the near future.  I forgive you Russ...  :D

I assume the 28' pups are unpainted as well as "undecorated"

What's the recommended paint for these?  Were they not unpainted metal, or am I confused again as usual....

I got one of the UPS 40ft drop trailers at the OKC show this weekend.   I had some others on order but decided I had to have one NOW.   :D   Great models, and I'm close to having a good representation of everything intermodal that I need now.  Everything from here on out will be mostly "upgrades".

Didn't realize the 28ft pups were so close but they'll be purchase...and one more project off the list.

These are beautiful.

What's the deal with the 28 footers?  The Trainworx site barely mentions them and they only show undec.  Are any UPS schemes planned, or is there a licensing issue?  (FWIW, the 40' UPS schemes only show reporting marks - no logo or United Parcel Service spelled out, which is appropriate for the model.)

Well, they showed up at MB Klein as sold out. I contacted BLW and Pete said they were not available.  They have not shown up on Ebay as far as I know.

All the others seem to be floating around and easily obtainable...

I may pop a note to Pat and ask what's up...

Only the undec 28' parcel vans and flexivans were sold.

Sorry 'bout that! Thanks for the foregiveness! Didn't know you could have something in your basket and get it swiped out of there like that!

Hi all,
There are some licensing issues with the UPS pups.
I have seen the finished flatcar pre-production models, and they look great.
Pat says the flats are on the (slow) boat from China. Plus they have to clear customs as well.

That's one of the built-in systems they have with their shopping cart/inventory programs.  It automatically updates everything and just because its in the basket, doesn't mean its safe.  It won't "pull" it from the inventory until you hit the magic button and complete the transaction.  Once it's gone in, it's pretty much guaranteed to be yours unless a freak input error caused the inventory to be off.  Only had that happen once though since they went to the online system.

It's all good and hopefully they will make more in the near future seeing how quickly they sold.

I'm curious...how would the pups be different than the 40's?

Sounds like we need to get an "underground" decal set going for the United Parcel Service lettering, no?

The 40-footers don't feature the company name or graphics, so there are no trademarks to be concerned with.

Should be easy enough to get some crisp period-specific UPS graphics, scale them down and output them through a high-rez color laser printer onto decal film.
