Afternoon,

For those who did not make it to Trainfest, I wanted to share a pic of our next Heavyweight.  The first issue should be out soon.  Here is one marked up for my layout.

Cheers,

Very nice, Joe!  I'm loving the flow of heavyweights!

OK, SPFs, here we go...!

The window count matches the PRR class P70.  The roof obviously doesn't, but that can be fixed using parts from http://www.prr-parts.com/  The trucks would have to go, and be replaced with PRR 4-wheel 2D-P5 trucks from East Wind (or whomever makes them now).  The rivet pattern below the belt rail is also different than a PRR P70.

I would not be upset to see these foobied into PRR.  Depending on how they look I would give serious consideration to buying a few.  Throw them behind my brass K4, or even better behind my pin-striped GG1 with the MTL club car and I'd have a Clocker.

Hi  Joe,

Nice looking coach. Will have to get one to see what changes other than trucks need to be made to make them into PRR P70 cpaches. I will have a look Dave and see how the go. Split the door windows as well. I think with a little work they will make into good P70 models. Maybe MTL will do the PRR 4-wheel 2D-P5 trucks. :D :D :D :o :o

Couldn't talk them into leaving off the roof vents, eh?  Those are funny looking circles.

Al,

Early P70s had the split vestibule window but later in life a good number didn't.  That's an easy fix with a styrene mullion if you want split windows, if Joe would share his formula for PRR Tuscan... :D

Hi Dave,

That would be great. Found a use for those RPOs. Two into one aint bad. Thanks to Claus Schlund and his article in the latest TKM on the M70A. I think I even have some work for the left overs.

Great, requests for two foobie schemes already and no requests for prototype schemes?  What is the 'Wire coming to?

Yes please, slap the CP on these and the RPO, and maybe put CN on some of them too.

Better check to see if those Pennsy parts roofs will fit.  They may be to long or even short which will require a little cutting.  Aren't these based on B&O prototypes?  I will have to check but they look close to WM heavyweight coaches also.

I would think (or hope) that B&O will be early in the releases to throw the B&O modelers a bone, since the model is based on that prototype.

The underbody looks busy, which is good.

Will there be any other roof options down the line?
