Surprised no one mentioned the heavyweight obs in GN and SP.  This should make the West Coash crowd happy.

The only thing of marginal interest is the FEC boxcar - and I think its a FOOB to begin with.

MTL should do one or two of the "Private Owner" cars floating around today.  There is probably something close and it would be useful for modern Amtrak trains.

Can't comment on the Espee car but the GN isn't really right. I'm sure (and Jerry seems to think so too) that there may well have been Pullman owned and operated cars of this plan on GN trains but I can't find a GN owned or GN marked example. Now; GN ran older observation style cafe coaches but these were rebuild turn of the century truss rod steel cars of a different configuration. Still; one could letter one up for a cafe coach if so desired and have a nice foob.. I did so with a Riverrosi observation and haven't heard too many complaints.

Now; is it just me or do MT's prices seems to have gone up and are hard to understand....... $ 22.20 for a simple black open hopper with one colour (white) print....yet a 3-2 Observation car with multiple parts, glass etc... is $ 22.70..... Ok; so the CPR hopper has a a coal load, Big whoopie dooo.....seems a little weird to me.....
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

The runner pack of SP hoppers is tempting.  I've always had a soft spot for their ballast hoppers, but the MT models would need new chutes.

That FEC boxcar was tempting too, until I had sticker shock. Holy crap!

I'm guessing it has a lot of colors or something, but sheesh!

Ed: Yes; with increased number of colours comes increased cost and I'd accept that but a difference of .50 between a 33' open hopper in black and a 80' obseravtion car with roof, glass, railings, tri axle trucks etc....um... ?

It's a runner pack.  Not sure if it's actually a new release.  Since these have mostly (entirely?) disappeared by now, I can't really justify a full runner pack.  Anyone want to split one?

The B&O 50' single door boxcar caught my eye.  As far as I can determine MTL has not done this car previously.  I thought it was a re-release with a new road number.  Patience.

The B&O M-61As were built by AC&F? So that means they didn't have PS1 ends, right?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.
