Over the last 2 years, I have slowly accumulated supplies to start quality resin casting. I have been frustrated with the spartan selection of vehicles in N scale and decided to do something about it. I am setting up a new business called Northeast Truck Company to address this lack of selection.

My models will be based on popular commercial and passenger vehicles. The resin kits will be pressure cast, molded in color, and feature open windows. Many of these sets will feature etched details, and I am looking into vacuum forming windshields to ease construction.

Here are some early rough-outs from test molds. These still need a lot of modifications before they are approved for production. The cabs still need to be hollowed out, and I am still trying to locate a source to do the milling. The rescue body is the closest to completion. It is designed to fit either the Mack CF cab  or an Athearn Ford C with long chassis.

This swab body has not been pressure cast, I was just testing out the molds. The body features a correct half-walk-in configuration that made these rescues so unique.


The rescue body is also nearly a drop-on fit to the Ford C long chassis

There are lots of 1960's and 70's based models planned like the Mack CF line. I also want to get a good quality Mack DM dump truck, as well as a Wite/Freightliner Road Commander.

I'm still looking into passenger vehicles. Maybe a Dodge Monaco from the 1970's and a 1990's Chevy Tahoe that was so popular with railroad police.

I'm pretty sure the smaller cars will need to be cast in one peice. I'm not sure if I should cast in color or clear resin for those. Clear resin comes out yellow (though I could tint it slightly green to emulate "solar tint" used on modern cars) and does not reproduce detail as well.

Anyway, I plan on making some samples available soon for your evaluation. The Swab body will be first.

Daniel,
any thoughts on wheels and tires for the trucks? Decent wheels and tires would go a long ways toward improving the looks of the Con-Cor/Herpa trucks and trailers.

I have finished masters for a set of cast multi-part tractor wheels that should work for any truck from the late 50s to the mid 70s. I also plan on a set of machined truck wheels for modern trucks as well. These wheels will have a channel attachment point like GHQ wheels. Since these are resin, it will be impossible to incorporate a metal axle
