It's showtime... at the Apollo. Well 20 blocks away across the Harlem River:

Run a bunch of car through the turnout to make sure everything worked, no derails.

Chris, that is looking mighty tasty!  Can't wait to see all the tracks down.

Last weekend the Gandy Dancers came over and helped me install cork on the upper staging yard.  Yesterday, I got some time in and laid down the west ladder and one track.

I also discovered that a Craftsman drill motor used in close proximity to a piece of flextrack can be inadvertently used to make modern art.

Richie commented over on Atlas that my "modern art" looks like Irene.

I don't see the resemblance.   :D

Chris, you've got to be one of the fastest layout builders (and destroyers) east of the Mississippi. What number is this one? Looking ab fab, all the same.

Well, it's a train update and a non-train update.
First, the train. My mountain scene is coming along really well

Now for the non-train stuff. those of you who do not enjoy kicking bass, please look away now. This is the B-8P bandpass subwoofer from Sound Ordnance. $140 bucks, included the wiring kit, and the sub comes with the speaker, amp, and enclosure. The amp has 80 watts of RMS and can hit 160 watts max. This thing KICKS!!!
First, the wiring. I've since flipped the sub around and it sounds better than it did lol.

And now the sub. It has four white LEDs to light it up when it's turned on; I had it off for the pic

Enjoy, maybe you'll hear the bass  8) JK

Awesome.  Is that ladder at the lower left one unit ladder or five separate turnouts?

Stay safe, Lee!  And any others on the list in the path.

No direct modeling per se, but I did just finish with a really good 4 hour op session on the WM72.  27 total trains ran and we used a modified version of TWC/ train orders for the first time.  A good friend of mine Doug Nipper used CATS to create a computer magnet board of the layout, and he was the DS handing out track warrants to all the trains running about the layout.  It worked well as long as the crews kept him apprised of their location.  We would like to use some type of external communication such as Skype or a cell phone connection where he can be in a separate town or state and still seve as the DS.  Still working on it.....

All 5 are built as one piece. This is 3/5th of it when I ran out of ties and had to wait:

I drew the templates myself because they have 9" radius diverging routes.

Not a lot in the way of modeling for me this week. Picked up a a pair of SD-9's and C30-7's and installed decoders in them. Also got my DBL168 back from Digitrax repairs and started to reinstall it, but haven't finished that.

Been watching the hurricane closely as I have to get on a plane to Baltimore, MD at 5:30am Monday. Might be a bumpy ride in, but at least I'll get there.  Glad the hurricane didn't stop the ALMS/Indy car races from happening this coming week in downtown Baltimore!
