Mark and Karl were comparing their schnabels to each other that entire show.

Ha! How true it is!

.... He has the flatcars available (they are resin bodies) as well as the 20’ container and detail fret for the tool cars.

I'd love to get these parts... Where can they be found for purchase?

RPM Chicagoland is the most Railwire-like trainshow in the country.  Rivet counting and shenanigans, all in one place.

I’m bringing an old thread back. Elgin Locomotive Works is coming back to life! Mark has a new email: elginlocomotive@gmail.com
The Schnabel kits have been improved and will be debuted soon. He’s a video of the Gen 1 kit as a teaser

That's a great news!  IIIRC, Mark was also planning on offer the cabooses. Will he be producing those as well?

I’ll ask him! Hopefully he’s at Trainfest in Milwaukee to show off the new stuff.

Amazing model! The real things where restricted to 15mph when handling loads, and only in the daytime. Trains that passed the Schnabel had instructions to stop and proceed. Saw a few of them in action as they were used to deliver equipment to the Northern Alberta oil patch.

I did get to photograph the 800 (KRL 3600) on its final run before being scrapped in Las Vegas. These are definitely show stoppers!

I also got shots of it at the scrapper the night before they torched it apart

Why was it scrapped?

It couldn't navigate 9-3/4" radius curves...
