I can finally access the website email, so folks don't feel ignored, it was my own technical hurdle only.
I still recomend the BLMA 100 ton. It has a low bolster, and that height is maintained on the 70 ton and it should also be maintained on a future 125 ton, whoever or however they are made. I have been drawing a 125 ton truck and maybe they can be RPd on a sprue. They will fit the 0.540 axle length so the modeler can get 38" wheelsets once they become available. And that will mean no modfication to the car, just swap the trucks.
Still, right now, nothing is available that doesn't need some mods to fit it with a pin.
So until the wheels are available I'll concentrate on the flat cars and the loads. That much I can control.

Great photographs Dave!
It's a shame that i've no dough to kneed out to get one of these kits, and even if i did i'd never assemble it due to the shear possibility that i'll ruin too many of the parts, especially since i've no skill/experience with any form of resin kit.
Someone said that OMI made a brass model of something very similar if not the same thing but that i'll probably run $1000 since its brass...
In the event i manage to sell my extra kidney on the black market, anyone want to assemble a second kit?

A friend had one of the OMI brass schnabels but it only ran on dead flat track. That was a very valuable leason I learned. At least it looked cool.
Resin is easy, clean the flash, cut off the pour sprues and file or sand flat. Super glue and paint.

The hard, more of impossible part, will be paint. Since i've no airbrush let alone a compressor, it'd be running in resin for a long while...

this is an awesome kit!  Have you completed your Paypal account setup yet?  I'm itching to get one of those behemoths!  I'm now actually glad that the Atlas forum shut down - I had no idea that this car kit was available until I saw this thread.

I'm curious: are the decals screen printed or done on Alps or done using some other method?

I left Elgin a phone message, lets see if they return my call. I'd be interested in one of those big ones. Looks like with the load you can purchase from them the entire things would be 25.750 long and have over $300 into it after trucks , couplers and the two resin kits.   My smallest Red is 19.5", which should work. Just have to keep an eye on my tunnels.

Unloaded it will track about the same as a 50’ boxcar. The load changes everything. It is a beast. I wish the bottom span bolsters were metal. It would help the handling so much.

Yes, he has the 800 available and is almost ready to sell the 801 kit (big blue). He has the flatcars available (they are resin bodies) as well as the 20’ container and detail fret for the tool cars.
