Been seeing a lot of these the past couple of days - even when I attempted to look at this thread:

I yet again changed the caching level again-hopefully this improves things.

I've got this a few times, but got it 3 times today:

Got this a bunch of times today:

Refresh won't fix it, I have to use the back button and click the link again to get where I was going.

And just now I got this:

Got this a bunch of times today:

Interesting--that's NOT the URL that brings me to The Railwire.

I use this: http://therailwire.net/forum/index.php

Note that's "forum" in the middle, not "Home".

If I use the "Home" URL, I get the same error message that you did (the 404, not the AVG warning).

(Edit--fixed a stupid typo, though it looks like Chris figured out what I meant anyway.)

I just changed the properties of my shortcut. I'll see if that works. I seem to remember changing it to what it was because of a problem with yours though. I'll give it a try.

I am getting off and on today A " DONE " at the bottom of the page but nothing on the page when trying to enter The Railwire . Never saw this before . This is my desktop link I am trying from https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php#c1

A refresh gives me
404: Page not found
This error is generated when there was no web page with the name you specified at the web site.

Troubleshooting suggestions:

Ensure the page you are linking to exists in the correct folder.

Check your file name for case sensitivity . Index.htm is not the same as index.htm!

Temporarily disable any rewrite rules by renaming your .htaccess file if it exists.

I'm having many of the same issues over the last last couple of days...

First I'll get a blank page with a "Done" status at the bottom...
Refresh get's me the 404: Page not found error...

And I have now twice gotten a warning from my Anti-Virus that it's stopped a Blackhole Toolkit Website 3 coming from the Railwire.

In most, if not all, of the above instances, I've noticed that I've been re-directed from www.therailwire.net/forum/index to www.therailwire.net/HOME/index.

So far I haven't had a problem getting here with Zox's link, but a couple times once I'm here and surfing around I also get "done" with a blank page.

Not complaining though  :P

This site is much easier to surf than a lot of other forums...

I've seen all of the above. I can get to the site fine, it is when I follow links within the site. I have had 404 errors, the anti-virus popup, and blank page with "done" that won't refresh.

Norton Antivirus protection on the computer at work gave me the "Blackhole" warning this afternoon, too!  WTF?

It might be something to do with shared hosting. These Web security services aren't very fine-grained; if any site on a particular host has malware, there's a chance that all of them will be reported with a problem.

I'm not sure how one would go about getting it fixed on the host side, but if you have a way to whitelist therailwire.net by name (rather than by IP address) for your browser, that might resolve the problem on the user side.
