After the N Scale Convention the PRR Juniata Division Comptroller has determined the railroad has fully expended its budget for motive power, rolling stock, and maintenance of way.  Purchases of or expenditures toward said are suspended until further notice.

The good news is that the timeline from rendering to model will allow me time to sell what few organs I have remaining to replenish the PRR's N scale coffers.

It's the core for an FGE ex-PRR R7 reefer.  It also could be used for the Mathieson dry ice cars.

I owe Pamela an article on how to create a master for polyurethane castings from brass etchings laminated to a rapid prototype resin core, and this will be the subject matter.  The Shapeways FUD process will be fine enough for the odd-shaped ribs, and layers of etched brass (with cutouts for the ribs to poke through) will have the intricate detail.  The overhanging Hutchins roof and free-standing detail get applied to the polyurethane castings.

It's basically the same concept I used for the NE5 caboose and the turtleback baggage car, but amped up to the next level.

Most of the time I do write, it's for NSR, and I have some projects slated for the Captain.  But I have to make good on a favor and this will be the vehicle for doing that.
