Congratulations, Gary!  I look forward to your article in that issue and love your caption in the Table of Contents.  Ooh, the issue also includes an article by Bernie Kempinski, and it will be interesting to see what Chuck Hitchcock (who modeled ATSF passenger ops) is doing.

Thanks gents.  A special shout out to @mark dance for putting me in touch with Tony Koester for this piece.  Tony was great to work with, as were the art folks at Kalmbach.  Be sure to look for my shout out to everyone here at Railwire for the feedback y'all have provided as TBC has progressed (or not).  It has been super valuable!!

Well deserved Gary! Can’t wait to get my copy.  Honestly the MR Planning issues are some of the best print content from MR magazine.

Congrats on the article and exposure. How's it feel to the be the only N scale guy in MRP? (Serious personal beef with this publication for never having more than 1 N scale layout in an issue.)

The back story to this is that Tony had an N scale article lined up for this issue and it fell through in the March/April time frame.  He asked around and Mark D put him in touch with me, so I went for it.  While this has been said several times before, Kalmbach would love to print more N scale material, but they don't seem to have enough quality submissions to choose from.  Send Cody or Tony (or RMC) a pitch - they'd love to hear from you!  It's a great opportunity to gather your thoughts and put them down in one place.

@C855B sorry I couldn't get a signal shot into the article.  The photos had to be more or less final back in June, and my signals simply weren't photo-ready yet back then.  It might make a nice article for MR though.  Hint, hint.

Hmm, makes me wonder if @RBrodzinsky or @jdcolombo could do some N Scale sound articles.

I'm confident there are dozens of threads floating around TRW that could be turned into articles.  As a (literal) bonus, you get paid for it.

IDK, is it really that simple?   We think of TRW as 'free', but would there be any sort of copyright concerns?  Also, would anyone posting to one of those threads have to give express permission to quoted, and/or be referenced as a contributor, co-author, or whatever...?   Would posted pics be of sufficient quality for print (ownership questions notwithstanding)?

Just thinking aloud.... (yes, it hurts....)
