i was actually disappointed that the N Scale COnvention model contest doesn't include a photogoraphy catagory.

i was going to submit a few for giggles.

And if they had a video contest, Tivo has just the right one.  8)

Great articles by all three of you and even more enjoyable because I have a feel for the works in progress from your posts on Railwire.

I'm still waiting for my author's copy, but I can't wait to see Lee's two articles and Pete's article too.

We've had that discussion regarding a Railwire influence on one of the two magazines, but there is so much more untapped talent in this forum who have yet to publish.

C'mon, guys!  It's easy!
I just need to get modeling again...then maybe writing! Maybe I'll write something about building the new one.
I WANNA SEE THE BOAT MOVIE!

Yes... I'm in N... Also HO and 1:1

My only disappointment is that Pam had to reduce the per page payment for authors.  So it's not quite as lucrative as it used to be to submit, but still, it's better than a stick in the eye.

I strongly recommend that if you think you might have an article in you, go ahead and pull it together and see what happens.  I've come to rely on some of my colleagues here to serve as a sounding board and do fine tuning before it goes to the publisher.

Feel free to consult if you'd like us to give you a little input.

Haven't finished the magazine yet but I must say that Dave Vollmer's article is terrific, as is his photography.  Nice job!

Also, congratulations to him on being selected for promotion to LtCol.  I'm a retired AF Maj and can appreciate his accomplishments.  Well done, sir!

Wow thats awesome Dave!!!!  Congratulations on making LtCol!!!!

I think of this website as an ongoing magazine.  I find myself coming back every chance I get to check on possible updates on your layouts.  I mean, this place has everything.  Layout visits, modeling tips, product reviews, layout design and troubleshooting.  My wife is starting to think I'm addicted.  Maybe I am. :)

Hello, my name is David and I'm addicted to The Railwire.  :)

I guess I won't bother if N Scale Railroading is paying more.

They always have.  I suppose it depends on which "In Crowd" you're in!

I do like the NSR web presence.  Very nicely done.

Are you talking about Model:160?  If so, it's not related to NSR.

I'm pretty sure Lee is referring to N Scale Railroading. The site isn't bad; the design is a bit dated, but at least it has a complete index of all magazines and articles. The N Scale Magazine site isn't too shabby-looking, but it's pretty lean on content.

Actually I was referring to Model 1:160.  I saw many of the usual suspects, and assumed it was affiliated with NSR.

See David, sarcasm knows sarcasm!  No affiliation Lee, and not really competition either.  The online scene is always going to be a little different than the print scene, so Model:160 hopes to be complementary.

Back to the matter at hand, congrats Mr. Vollmer on snagging a cover!
