Chris - in the FWIW category, I see the image in the second section, and also when I click on the first section.

An examination of the second section shows no tags whatever...

Why are they (Google) doing this to us?

Why are they (Google) doing this to us?

The answer I have had in several other fora is Google is expecting/seeing/driving posting of photos in social media way more then in BBS style forums like ours.  The image tags now in use, and the Google Photos switch from Picassa, supports that use.  There just aren't enouhg people doing what we do apparently to make the difference.

As noted elsewhere you can still get to all your photos through Picassa Web, but Google i sno longer supporting it so no idea how long the portal will be open.

Nothing new to be in the way of the steamroller.  Ah well.  Have to wonder how long before Flickr and Photobucket change also...

@Chris333,

I seen my picture that you posted just fine.
In your next post, just like Jerry, I could click on the link and it opens just fine.
I could also see the same picture that you linked to just fine.

I did find out something.  If I upload to my google photos, then do a blog post, and once it's been published I can click on any thumbnail, enlarge it, then on that photo if I right click on it and copy the URL address I can then use that address to post anywhere else.

So as long as this works I will continue to do it this way.
I also opened a Photobucket account to upload odds and ends picture that are not going to be on my blog site.
I got a free account w/2gb and after signing up I seen that I could download the app to my phone and get 8bg more for free.  So I now have 10gb for odds and ends.

We'll see how long this lasts until something else changes....... :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Thanks for all the help and suggestions!

Maybe you don't have something set to share at Google Photos? Because I can't see your photo I tried to post.

I have no idea Chris?   :?
The one photo you posted is one of twelve that I took during our recent session last weekend. It shows just fine on my screen, probably because it my photo and it's my album?
I decided to post them in a new album to start with.  I set that album to share.  I made sure the photos were shared.
When that didn't work I copied them to my normal album I use for my blog, which has always worked.

But even in there they sometimes didn't show, here on RW, TB or NSN?  There was a mix of results, some could see them while others couldn't?
When one of the members on NSN copied on of the photos off my blog and posted it, it worked just fine and it had this added to the end "?.jpg"

Bryan, yes it's a very nicely weathered Great Northern boxcar, with very well done trees. Nice photo!  I use Firefox.

Thanks for sharing

I didn't want to hijack Allen's great thread but I wanted to be sure that the method I described to him still in fact works as I described.

Edited to add that I am using Firefox on Windows at the office.
