Looks like April's release for this is IMCX ...

I will definately support this when MTL does a scheme era appropriate for me. 8)

I just hope I don't have to wait as long as I've waited for the 'right" scheme on the 3 dome tank (still waiting!). ;)

Mark

The market is still wide open on this car.  Someone who is willing to do a bunch of schemes per release can still tool this car and make a lot of money that MTL is leaving on the table.

Like others, I'll support this car when they do a scheme I need (ATSF). One can never, ever have enough covered hoppers or variety.

Agreed, MT should release 3-4 schemes a month on the 4427's w/multiple road #'s.

it would be nice to see someone release multiple schemes and numbers a month. Unfortunately, I don;t see that happening anytime soon.

Planning a couple of three dome tank cars now...what scheme do you want?

We are also moving in the direction of having more road names on these cars.  Frankly they are labor intensive to assemble let along the time it takes me to laser cut those roof walks.  Hopefully we can get more out sooner...just got a second laser and it is making production a lot more effecient.

Heck I think everyone here knows what scheme N&W wants just from all the begging he has done for it...
And I'll take his scheme too  :)

Joe, I gave a bunch of pics to Eric a while ago.  Black SHPX for one.

Still waiting on the red Swift 36' wood reefer without truss rods also.

Guess I can't complain too loudly, given all the schemes I've submitted that MTL has done.

Joe, I don't know who convinced the production team that the laser was the right tool for that job in a large scale production, but someone should really tell that person to call the etcher and order a bunch of etched roofwalks instead.  Probably don't even need to change any of the plastic parts to accommodate the material change.  And they'll be more precise too; they won't have the wonky hole pattern the current laserboard parts do.

Not only tool it, but tool one with a much better roofwalk (with an actual grab), correct trucks, etched metal crossover platforms, actual roof detail, etc, etc, etc, etc, all for a lower price, not to mention the ability to put correct schemes on it.

Or buy their own etcher instead of a new laser (but those wood laser buildings aren't too bad)

Artwork for the roofwalk was completed today. Should have SS in 2-3 weeks.

N6b (Center and Offset Cupola) also completed today. Should have them at the same time.

Yeah, Chris & Bryan B nailed it, been begging since this car style was first released, I even sent pics to MTL (I thought I sent them to you Joe!)

I just noticed they did another oddball 3 dome:

I wonder if they'll ever get around to doing a "normal" black 3 domer ...

Yup, the black SHPX 3-dome tank.  It probably would end up being the their top-selling 3-dome tank to date if they made it.

Since Joe mentioned more than one car number, this would be a great model to be offered with two road numbers (or three??).  It is one of those old style types I "need".
