Got my Chuckpak this week with BLMA gons (one PRR, one PC).  Here's the PRR hawtness:

And here's the Kato PC passenger set.  I have to apologize for the unrealistic depiction here; it's both clean and on the rails, so clearly unprototypical!   ;D

During this past week I began work on MLW M-630s BCR 710 and 719.  The Atlas C-630 mechanisms now ride on Briggs Models Dofasco trucks, and the Briggs Models M-630 shell has been dressed to fit the Atlas mechanism, deck and cab:

The rear end of the carbody, radiator top and inertial air filter housings are separate parts and have yet to be fitted:

The coming week is Spring Break, so I hope to enjoy some quality modelling time for a few days.

Tim

Well isn't that ironic; I am just starting the same two locomotives; PGE 710 and 719..... 719 being the last one deivered to the PGE......or so I believe................
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

I've been working on a Milwaukee Road "Grove" series Parlor-Diner. The body is ready for paint but I still need to detail the underframe.

Er, no Pud, 705-709 and 710-716 were received by the PGE, and 717-722 were delivered as BCR engines.  I am modelling PGE 710 and BCR 719.

I thought you would be modelling some CP Rail ones?

No pics to post, and point A and B are only 10" apart, but to get from point A to point B the train has to travel 63' which means I am finally getting some where.

With a wee bit of luck by next week end I will have added at least another 30' of usable right of way.I may actully run trains before summer gets here. ;D

As noted previously, I had the great pleasure of operating on Mark's C&W, and of meeting Tim Horton (BCR 570) and several other locals.  In the small world department, I got the ore jobs into and out of the C&W's depiction of Trail BC, my mum's home town.  Running these trains with helpers over Farron Summit went very smoothly - and was great fun!

The only modelling I've done is to organize my HO 'junk' for sale at the Western Rails meet tomorrow.  If any of the locals will be there, stop by and say hi.

No trains for me either, unless you count the RER and metro trains we caught from CDG Airport to our hotel in Paris... and checking out the Eurostars and TGVs on the way. Phase 1 of our holiday is finally underway, after spending most of the weekend in either planes or airports (Brisbane - Singapore - London - Paris). In 11 days time we'll be back at Heathrow to head to the USA....

Mark, here's someone using the system you just described:
http://shendiv.wordpress.com/2010/09/26/using-wireless-phones/

I'd take a look at what Bruce has to say and contact him if you have any questions or want some further ideas,
Phil

Nothing new this week but I dispatched the Shen Div solo for the first time yesterday.  I can attest that the phones work great the way Bruce is employing them.  Cuts down on radio traffic.  When a radio call comes in the dispatcher knows it a train crew and not a support position (yard, traffic manager etc.)  Helps keep things straight.  I like them.

That's why I asked...I'll make the change - nope - need some big PGE power....
