Here is something I just cooked up with my cutter....









It's an HO 41/46 Chevy from CMW that I used for a test bed. I am converting it to N but a body is going to be a little tougher. I am either going to use a GHQ Chevy or a CMW 54' Ford 350 with truck wheels and modified fenders. That is basically all CMW did.

So, there's a website that caters to classic refuse truck enthusiasts...  Just when you thought Model Railroading was at the bottom of the totem pole... :facepalm:

I've been busy the last five months with Kay's eye problems and will be delayed a few more weeks until it is resolved. I've done both ship hulls, superstructures, and small pieces like boat cranes, but just haven't had time for photos and posting. Will try to post in the next few weeks. I'm now targeting September for introducing a line of N scale ships and boats and nautical equipment.

Remember I am using a Roland vinyl cutter, not one of the Silohette cutters but here is what I use.

The thickest styrene my cutter will cut is .015" which is what I used for this.
I slowed the cut speed down as far as it could go and I don't have an option for cut pressure.

My cutter just scores the styrene and I break it out from there. I have no hope of actually cutting through.

SkipGear you might try shrink casting the body with the hydro shrink material? You can get it close to n with some playing. I haven't done it personally but I've seen many go from ho to n scale vehicles lately done that way.
