This was the last photo I posted:

Got me wondering if anyone has tried to model snow on cars or locomotives.  If this something Tom might try?

Rand Hood had a really nice two part series in Model Railroader in the January and February, 1996 issues.
Thanks to the revived magazine search, I can "remember" things I read 15 years ago!

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Many moons ago I used baking soda that was sprinkled on with a sifter. But don't keep it on
too long & let it get damp, as then it's real tough to remove. I speak from experience you
say?  ::)

I have a friend from Philly, Dave Savage, who did snow on a Bachmann C40-8 (back when they were the best we had).

I'll see if I can get a pic from him.

If this is the MR article that I remember, it was a fantastic series and demonstrated the use of certain modeling materials to really capture the look of snow, right down to the glittery effect in a bank of snow.  Excellent article and quite possibly some of the best snow scenes that I've seen.

Dave

I do believe I have that issue with the article.  I'm looking more at snow on locos and cars, not the scenery.  Don't think I have ever seen this done.  Oh and John, i model the same time but Sept.
