Detailing a Fiat twinset

Oh crap first I have to build the thing!!!!

Okay I'm building it then I'll detail it - I see this is gauge non-specific! 
 
This is an articulated railcar (you would call it an RDC but we are different from you guys!)

So this is the shell after roughly a couple of hours - White metal, soldering iron, low melt solder and a file - woo hoo!







She's lookin pretty rough, needs a lot of filing and metal working, look really cool when they are finished.

Added roof vents - takes a while as everything is soldered.



Filed back the door openings to reflect prototype.

Hi Tom , No it's a flat kit but you have to apply engineering skills to complete the job. You get the pieces, some bent etc, you get some loose instructions and have to make everything fit. Scratchbuilding would be easier. I've had to remember how to lead load as the roof was a bit out of shape. I'm modifying it as the light recesses weren't drilled out, and the marker lights are just tubes of white metal. I'm replacing those with some drilled out aluminium tube so I can get red marker lights lit when the railcar reverses.
The undercarriage will be detailed in a bit too

Here's some more progress - not a lot but some - top tail lights / Marker lights.



Using brass tube so I can drill it out and add plastic / resin lights that will work instead of painted metal. Still have the bottom ones to do. Also added the MU receptacles.

Got the bottom tail lights in but they all need a bit of fettling to get it to look right.



Lookin a bit crap right now but it will improve!!!!!  ;D
