I think that may be a good idea. And with the size of the IT, it looks like it may require 2 jobs to work it. With the wye if the two jobs are on the IT at the same time it may reduce bottlenecks or even complete lockdown.

I had bought one last year at Springfield as the old layout needed one for the reverse loop off of the Lakeland Cutoff. I ended up changing the cut off so that it did not loop back on to the main, but instead connected back onto it on the other side of the backdrop to better operations. So it has sat in its bag since then.

What about that idea of putting in a run around track on that
narrow peninsula on the right. Not sure what you call it. Then
change the direction that you tie in at Fiberoid?

That is the origional change that I had mentioned last week at Johns. I think the wye works better as if there are two crews working that area it eliminates what could be a huge bottle neck I think.

Yeah I'm pretty embarrassed to say I totally missed this thread until you changed your signature. Maybe I should change my layout plans from Worcester-Boston to Worcester-Springfield, that way we can coordinate opps sessions.

Well even though most times I work on the layout alone, the plans and ideas for this one have really been a group effort with ideas from everyone on the Tuesday Operations crew and countless hours from Dave on the computer making sure everything fit....and to boot 1:1 to please my OCD complex.
