I'll take:

NW-2 or TR-2

A TR-2 would seriously effect my narrow focus on Waterloo to include a second deck with Oelwein.

I'm liking the idea of a TR2 (with calf please); but don't we already have a NW2? Or is there something wrong with it I'm not aware of?

TR-2's couldn't come any other way.  ;)  But there were different phases.

The Kato NW-2 is missing the louvers on the hood that .  Which isn't a huge deal, but does stand out when there's lettering across the letterboard space between the louvers.  I have started one shell with the louvers added.  And based on that experience, I hope to do only one.

Would be nice if the NW2 didn't have the usual Kato turbo speeds as well.

I'm surprised that no one has even given any thought to a S-2 yet. IIRC, that is the most requested loco here that I have seen.

That would be a far better choice than some of the rare birds suggested so far.  Still, I'm not getting my hopes up.

I wonder how bad a wide hood S-2 would look ?

But in a dream state we tend to see this

SD38-2

Pardon
me, but I would turn multiple cartwheels over that one as some LA Hauler spice.  If only...

Ditto...not that I am expecting that to happen.

At the 07 nmra show in Detroit I was asked by the Kato rep, what would i like to see built. I immediately said SD38-2, non dynamic. I then learned what laughter sounds like in Japanese.

Didn't someone here or on "Trainboard" say someone un-named is bringing out a new 2-8-2 Mikado?
Nah, can't be...

Mark 4 Designs sell a shell for the SD38-2, in a variety of phases reflecting the various units built.
