Call me nuts, but shouldn't this be used in a fume hood?  Or outside?

In theory all solvents should be used in a well ventilated area, but I fail to see how that's different between the Testors and the thinner, so don't know why he would need to mention it in a tip about substitutions.  The Testor's isn't any safer than thinner...

Having said that, I don't use any special ventilation when assembling plastic models.   :-X

You will often find a builder in glues that is not in thinners, it helps in strengthening the bonding process. FYI water under some circumstances is considered a poison .......... :o

Water is also a solvent.

Indeed, it is considered by some to be the "universal solvent."

Beware DHMO will remove dirt when mixed with lard that has been exposed to saponification.

Did you know that corpses can saponify under the right conditions?

Watch out for DHMO!

http://www.dhmo.org/

They had to shut down the highway and declare a state of emergency in the eastern part of our county due to a case of massive DHMO contamination. Took 3 days to get it all cleaned up. About 300 cars and trucks were crippled and stranded as a result, and people had to be rescued from their vehicles by emergency crews.
