I also rode out to Concord to see a friend, and from there up to Spencer to get reference photos of this wee beasty:

Hopefully for a manufacturer who's initials are FVM?

I wish.

No, the chances of an AS416, especially a high hood AS416, are very slim indeed.

I whipped up a 3-D flat of another company house tonight, and did the "abandoned house" theme... Turned out pretty well, maybe some pics in the morning...

Did I mention how glad I am to have a proper camera again?

You got a new camera? What is it?

I'm late to the party, but, since this thread is still active this morning, I'll add to it.

Tracklaying has begun and the first unofficial train has run (although not far) on my new Aberdeen & Rockfish RR hollow core door layout.  As you can see in the picture below, the Seaboard System double-track mainline, which the locomotive and gons are sitting on, is mostly installed, and the train can run from here to the enginehouse tracks out of the picture at left.  Getting started was fun, because the crossover just ahead of the locomotive is part of seven (7!) conjoined turnouts that dictated where the tracklaying had to begin.

With just a few more hours when I find the time, I should be able to finish most of the Aberdeen side of the layout, including the small yard, and continue the A&R main around to Raeford.

@DKS: This was taken with my Blackberry, because I was in a hurry.  I'll try to get better pictures for you to use on your A&R blog by using my camera and better lighting in the next few days.

@Lee: Can you provide me detailed information on the slide switches that you use to control your turnouts and how to install them, i.e., secure them in the foam?  I can't seem to locate the thread on this issue.

Awesome to watch this happening! As for a better pic, I reduce them down to <600 px anyway, so Blackberry images are OK.

Perhaps, but these pictures are crappy, so I'll provide better quality shots for you.  Thanks!
