Absolutely! Mark (Spookshow) documented a lot of his progress on the Atlas forum, and I'll tell you, he's a talented guy.

I REALLY hope it goes to a good home.

I'm going to have to count those trees. It doesn't look like 'almost 1,000'. Wait, I've got better things to do...

Trees disappear into a layout quickly, I'm always surprised how fast they get eaten up.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

You should wait for te plaster to dry then.

I think that he is one of those rare realists who understands that you can't recoup the entire cost of building a layout. That is why I am smartly maintaining my net worth by purchasing kits but not building them!

Seriously though, I have seen his documentation on previous projects where he does a great job of keeping track of the costs.

Best wishes, Dave

If you lend someone $20, and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

And how.

It's amazing quite honestly how trees seem to disappear as soon as you put them on a layout.

Is Mark working on a new layout?

He has, but he needs to sell this one in order to get the benchwork up for the new one.

I hope he sells it.

Personally I think model railroad blog is the best in the business.  Entertaining, informative and he doesn't take himself or the hobby too seriously.  He leaves his ego at the door.

Just in the very upper-left corner, just in the area between track and edge, in what appears to be a bit less than half a square-foot, there are roughly 50 trees.  If not 1000 there's certainly several-hundred on there, that's for sure.

If I was closer to Mpls, I'd have already closed the deal. It's a truly wonderful little layout and would be right at home in my little condo... and it'd keep me somewhat sane. Sigh.

I agree; Mark's blogs are funny as hell.  Well, very funny, anyway, because I guess Hell isn't very funny... :-X

Why the hell isn't Mark a Railwire a$$hat yet?  He shows as having signed up in January but hasn't posted.  His brand of humor is perfect for this place, and he's a good modeler too!  We just need to keep giving him crap about the blue water.

His new scratchbuilt stuff he's been posting on the A-board is some of the best N scale structure work I've seen.  And he's fast.

Richie I had about 5-7k invested into this layout and sold it for 500.00
layout only, no structures, etc.

Is Mark working on a new layout?

Mark is going to try modeling an actual location this time, Hope, Minnesotta I believe. He has been scratch building structures for about a year, leading up to the actual layout building. At last he said that he didn't really want to sell the current layout but needed it to be gone for space for the new one. He said this current layout is the first that he was satisfied with when done.
