Here here! I HATE that Maryland's highways and byways look like a damn carnival midway these days.

Try living in an area with high home sales volume (or the expectation thereof), not only do we have the political assininess but realtor signs year-round that put Burma Shave to shame. I voted (early) already, I want this all gone by the morning.

With one important difference. Unlike the Atlas version, the Tomix version is available for purchase!

Bob- that all depends on how much you line the county building inspector's pockets and/or county commissioners with- this is south Florida after all!! (can't wait for elections to be over so the phone calls and commercials will stop!) ;D

Municipal elections across Ontario.....the "minor league" morons... the mid level should be in the next year (Province) and heaven knows when the major league knuckleheads will call an election (I have developed a significant distain for political types.......oops, I am one !)

My guy won 

Spent the weekend in Erie, PA., shopping... semi-annual clothes, shoe, Golden Corral, DVD, Cologne, and this year all natural organic hot cereal shopping trip. Supporting the US economy, essentially. Saw a few freights on the mains, no new units at the shrine.

I did some work on my MDC tank cars this week. I still need to finish decaling. I hate decaling.

I started work on an E-One Super Tiller this week. The tractor is about 2/3rds done. The cab is another Kinder Egg toy mounted on a Tomytec chassis. Virtually everything else will be scratch built. I chose this model to practice building swing out and roll up doors, something that I am not very good at. E-One has CAD drawings on their site that make building the model much easier:

One neat trick I learned from another modeler was to use tin foil as walkway tread material. Here is how it works: Take a piece of tinfoil place it on top of some GMM tread plate material. Use a rubber eraiser to push the foil onto the treadplate and replicate the pattern. Remove the foil from the GMM plate, place the foil upside down and spray two light coats of Elmers Spay Adhesive. After 15 secconds, the foil is read to apply to styrene or metal. The shiny surface of the foil makes much better stainless stele than the GMM plate, and the thin profile makes it much easier to work with when making bumpers, equipment boxes etc.

This probably would be the easiest way to make tread plate for IMRC's engines as well.

How strong is it compared to the DPM walls?  I am thinking about going the mold making process for a building I am kitbashing, and @ $20 a pop per kit for 10+ just to use the front of the building making a mold is the way to go.

How many casting can you get out of the rubber mold? Have you had any problems with air bubbles along the surface

Smooth-On's website makes it seem really easy, how different is it from the tutorial they give on making the telephone pole considering only one side needs the detail?
